My lovely girlfriend (she’s marriage material for real, now) has given me the gift that matters most this Holiday season - The gift of seat-time on a race track.
DriveeXotic runs a track in Cresson, Tx. I have to schedule my time but I have a selection of 3 cars for my level of voucher. I will rank them here from least-want to most-want to drive for my 5 laps. All cars are automatic, which is a shame as I would like to row my own on at least 2 of these.
3. Porsche Cayman - 2.7L 6 cylinder, 275 hp with the PDK. I’m not a Porsche lover and I’m not a hater either. The Cayman has never gotten more than a glance from me though. However, maybe this is the time I use to change my mind.
2. Lotus Evora (tie for first place) - 3.5L 6 cylinder, 345 (!) hp with 6 speed IPS. Dunno anything about it really other than it is pretty and light. Probably fun as hell but...I’m a big guy. My only concern is fitting in the car easily.
1. Camaro ZL1 - 6.2L Supercharged V8 580HP - with Hydramatic 6L90 6 speed. I mean, what else do you need to know. I’m not a Camaro fan but how do you turn down 580 Supercharged ‘Murica’s? Only concern is happily managing that much power around the track while having a good time.
The Lotus is probably the best handling car of the 3, and probably a good bit of fun as well. Then again, I have a hard time passing up the thunder of an American God. The direct injected and supercharged LSA is hard to say no to.

Camaro - no question. Sure the PDK Cayman is interesting - but you can always go test drive one, (and it’s just the 2.7.) This is the only time you will ever get seat time in a ZL1.

Whoops, I was thinking of the new LT4/LT1.
Oh well.

I’m glad we all agree. Might as well go big.
